With their broad leaves, bright flowers, and distinctive rosette formations, bromeliads are a great way to add a tropical ambience to your space. 

These medium-sized epiphytes only live for about a year, but will produce 'pups' that will grow into full-sized plants.

Their variety of colourful flowers make them fantastic gifts (and they're also ideal habitats for native frogs).
